Team Silver Lining has been privileged to support drivers Dean Stoneman, Tom Gladdis, Jon Lancaster and Miki Monras during the 2010 and 2011 F2 championships.
Dean Stoneman – Dean excelled in 2010 to win the F2 Championship title and earned the coveted Williams F1 test drive in Abu Dhbai. Due to illness, Dean has taken a seasons break from racing to fully focus on his recovery. Dean is a Youth Ambassador for the Wessex Cancer Trust and was recently named evo Magazine’s Hero of the Month for May 2011.
Tom Gladdis – Tom joined Formula 2 after racing in Formula BMW and the Star Mazda class. Tom returns to Formula 2 in 2011 for a third season, following a successful maiden year in 2009 and a partial season in the series in 2010.
Jon Lancaster – Jon joins the 2011 Formula 2 Championship with a wealth of experience and race wins under his belt. The British driver began karting in 1999 until 2006, before stepping up into single-seater racing in Formula Ford, Formula Renault, Formula 3 and 3.5 and most recently, AutoGP.
Miki Monras – Miki debuts at F2 in 2011 after a career spanning karting, master junior and Formula Renault 2.0 and GP3. The Spanish driver has his focus set on the Williams F1 test at the end of the season for the championship winner.
About F2
Formula 2 allows aspiring Formula 1 motorsport drivers a route to the big leagues. Run as a single team operation, costs are dramatically reduced without sacrificing quality, providing young drivers a real chance of reaching their ultimate driving goals. The F2 car, the Williams JPH1B, is designed by the Williams F1 team and is the same for each driver.
Each year, the top three F2 point scorers are eligible for their FIA Super Licence, whilst the winner also receives a full test with the Williams F1 team at F1’s end of season rookie tests. New for 2011, second and third placed drivers at the end of the championship will be rewarded with GP2 test drives.
